TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ACTION PLAN
The Town of Atherton initiated the Neighborhood Traffic Management Action Plan to address resident concerns about traffic-related issues throughout the Town. The plan will identify potential traffic management and calming measures and strategies to enhance safety, accessibility, and mobility, and ultimately, the quality of life of Atherton residents.
To date, we have gathered your traffic safety concerns through this project website, survey, map input, email correspondence, and two concern Listening Sessions (held on August 6 and 13, 2020).
We have developed potential mitigation measures to address various concerns and are seeking feedback regarding the same. Please visit the
Potential Mitigation Measures section to learn more about each measure.
We have conducted two Potential Mitigation Measures Public Outreach Sessions (held on
April 14 and 22, 2021) to collect feedback on potential mitigation measures. Visit the
Past Events section to learn more.
The survey to provide feedback on potential mitigation measures is now closed.
POTENTIAL MITIGATION MEASURES
The project team has developed a list of potential mitigation measures based on community inputs and existing conditions (Average Daily Traffic, 85th Percentile Speed, Intersection Congestion Level, and Collision History). These measures include engineering solutions to improve safety for all mode users, implement traffic calming on residential neighborhoods and school zones, and enhance the quality of life for the Town of Atherton. Click on the button below to view the maps illustrating potential mitigation measures and their locations, spread over three phases - near, mid, and long-term.
Click on each measure to view their description, traffic calming effects, and drawbacks.
The Phase 1 Outreach survey and map input has closed on 10/01/2020.
The Phase 2 Outreach survey and map input are now closed. If you have additional comments, please provide them through the Stay Connected section.
